    '62 Harmonic Balancer

Just to be certain, before I send my harmonic balancer in to be redone. I assume it should be a 6 riveted together one. This is for a very early '62 with 250hp.

Yes, that's what you need. Originally GM #3817684 for your car.

        David,
Also note that on early 327 low HP cars the damper has no holes around the outer ring like 1965-up low HP damper.

Timothy, I assumed the balancer was original to the engine as the engine is original to the car. But, never assume nothing! Does anyone have a rebuilder of these balancers that they have used and liked.

            David,
If the rubber in the middle is in good shape just have it balanced with the engine. I know this has been discussed before and there were some names posted of two companies that do this. Check archives and the phone #'s may be there also. Sorry I can't help with the names.

Be carefull who you send it to. I sent out the rivited balancer from my 57, and they cracked the outer ring and then they couldn't fix it. After checking with Damper Doctor, they said that it wasn't the right one for the car anyways. Although I did not use them for their rebuilding services,
they were very helpful and courteous. I would recommend trying them.
