I sent him a nice note. Let's see if he answers back.
I doubt it.

Re: 1971 Zr1
It's a 1971 car with a 1970 engine THAT HAS THE VIN DERIVATIVE OF THE 1970 CAR IT WAS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED IN. Plus, that engine is an L-46 and not an LT-1. But, it's supposed to be an original 1971 ZR-1.
Apparently, folks want to have a rare car whether it's rare or not.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

The alternative is that it's a 70 with a 71 VIN plate.

Re: 1971 Zr1
Here's what I got back:
"Thank you. You are correct. I was mistaken thinking that the 350/350 was
the LT1. It would be a 370hp if it was a 70 LT1 and 330hp if a 71. The
engine must have been swapped pre-78. I'm going to try to contact the
original owner to find out the scoop.
Thank you,

Re: 1971 Zr1
Looks like he posted an update to the description on his listing. So I give him credit for his correction. Hard to tell what this car was actually born with. Either a 71 with a heart transplate from a 70 350 HP A/C car including a dash plate swap, or a 70 with the VIN swapped from a 71. If it is the latter, then there's probably a quite a story that goes along with it!- Top

Re: 1971 Zr1
A ZR-1 is a car thousands of people would love to own. This is America and this fellow is giving someone that opportunity. Is this a great country or what?
