    72 T3 headlights

I am looking for a full set of 72 style T3 headlights. Does anyone have a source for these?

    Thanks

I searched last year this time and no new bulbs were being produced. The explanation ranged from not enough demand to licensing problems. I found a working set on Friday of Corvettes at Carlisle. It was the only set I saw in three days. Get there early and know exactly what they look like. Good luck. Jim

Don't forget all the other '72 GM cars that used those same bulbs in your search.

They do show up on e-bay from time to time.
            They are expensive.

I believe that too often used originals burn out when turned on for the first time. I think it has something to do with the seal leaking. Perhaps someone who knows more can chime in. My originals still work but one has gotten foggy in side; sorta like my brain.

                Joe -

I think I have a complete set of LOW and HIGH beams.
I bought from ebay a year or so back as a backup set for my car.

I will check them on MOnday and be sure they are working okay.
From what I remember, all four are clear and in REALLY excellent shape.

I have had many NOS bulbs burn out when tested on a full charged battery. I was told to use lower power and bring it up slow but never tried it as it was too late. Most agree that if the seal is broken they smoke and burn. Some have tried to seal the conection with PVC. Good luck with the test.

Extremely rare! If you do find a set be prepared to pay through the nose since these were one year only headlights. Keep an eye on The Driveline as well as Hemmings Motor News.

You might want to look at repros which, I believe, will earn a mild deduction for the DOT feature as well as the icon on the lens.

Here is a hand out from 04 from a vendor at Carlisle I believe. Ignore the prices I'm sure they are not the same today.
