Re: I forgot what year C2 was accepted
It was a huge deal to bring in the 1956-1962's when the NCRS started back in 1974. Too new for a lot of people...- Top

WHat do you mean? IS that a ZR1 Avitar? They are to new! Anyway I remember seeing a 77 judged for the first time. It took me awhile to figure out what the bumpers were made of. Some kind of space age polymer like what the Astronauts use. I asked the guy if he liked to drink Tang.- Top

"Midyears... we don't no stinking midyears!"
Here's a picture from an NCRS Meet in St. Louis in 1974. I don't see any C2' cars in the lot. I was eleven years old when I attended my first NCRS meet with my dad there in St. Louis, been hooked ever since.

Re: I forgot what year C2 was accepted
Eric,
My point is that every time a new class of cars is added for judging some people have a hard time excepting it. I experienced this first hand with my ZR-1. I was told that " You should have no problem passing a PV, the car is almost new." This person totally missed the fact that C4s are some of the hardest cars to PV because of there complexity. With Roy Sinors C4 purchase and Vito's constant support, someday the C4s will be allowed to play with the big boys. MTCLast edited by David M.; March 6, 2008, 06:07 PM.- Top

I can recognize the Body Color Wheels with Beauty Rings and Center Hubcaps. Not kosher, but it did look good.
T/A Radials made it handle pretty decently and it road a lot better.

Re: I forgot what year C2 was accepted
Been there, done that, I had one of the first judged 65 cars back in the "trial year" of '77 and also at the national in Flint the following year. Finished crossed flags with the '89 last summer, great to be able to drive the car again, Between Bose radio and automatic A/C and all the other gadgets, the PV in 87 with my '65 Fuel car was a piece of cake!Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: I forgot what year C2 was accepted
Dave, I am, with you on that one. I was only having a little fun,I am going to try for a Crossed Flags Award with my 84 and I had the same response. "Should be easy its like a new car..." Arghhhh The top flight part does not scare me it's the PV.. Boy I am not sure you will ever see a 'restored' C4 though. The cost to restore one will be huge, more then the car is worth. I can also see the day 30 years from now when the 84 TIM&JG will be the size of a large cities phone book. Eric
