I have a 96 convertible w/ Delco/Bose stereo. When I purchased the car the radio receiver box was lying at the bottom of the storage compartment along with an aftermarket amp that was tapped into the low-level speaker wires. I've since tossed the after market amp and ordered new Delco/Bose speaker/amp cabinets.
The '96 Service Manual appears to only cover the removal/installation of the receiver box in coupes. In coupes the receiver box is simply wedged into the same Styrofoam piece that holds the jack and Bose speaker relay. My receiver box has a bracket attached that is obviously used to secure it in the storage compartment. I am told that this is correct for convertibles. My problem is that I can't figure out how the bracket is attached to the car in the storage compartment.
Another member was kind enough to send me the two studs that hold the bracket but I can't figure out how to use them.
Does anyone have a diagram or Service Manual supplement that demonstrates how this bracket is attached in convertibles? or can someone describe the location of the studs and how to properly install the receiver box and bracket?
Thanx,
