1972 questions

I am working on a 72 454 convertible. I have several questions:
Car was built in Oct. 71. Judging showed these questions.

1. Door handle not glossy in the inside. Mine looks like siver paint.

2. What color are deck and top release handles supposed to be?
3. My timing tab is spot welded to the timing cover. Should it be painted or partly bare?

4. Judge showed TCS jumper missing, what is this?

5. Judge showed lower ball joints bolted on and took off. I thought the lowers were bolted on?

The timing tab should be bare on the end and both upper and lower ball joints are held in place with rivits.

1. The door handles should be all chrome no paint these are later GM over the counter or Reproductions. You can remove this paint with ether lacquer thinner or MEK if they are on the car you must be very careful dampen the rag in a small area and rub the painted area and it should come off.

4. The TCS jumper is a wire harness on the right side of the engine the wire is a dark green and is connected to the temp sensor in the right head the connector is in a V shape. If you have a shop manual it is explained very well in there and how it works.

The jumper wire I believe is available from Lectric Ltd
