    Sleeve Wheel Cylinders

Any recommendations for someone that does a good job sleeving wheel cylinders for a 1958? I just want them sleeved, not totally rebuilt.

You might try White Post in Virginia. (www.witepost.com) I believe they will do them in brass and you should ask them not to paint them. There are probably many other places you could send then, but . . .

I used Brake & Equipment Warehouse, 455 Harrison St, Minneapolis, MN 55413 for stainlesss sleeves on my '58 wheel cylinders and master cylinder. If you use them ask for Rob at 800-233-4053. Whitepost doesn't recomend using DOT 5 and won't warranty their work if you use it.

I have used Whitepost and Apple Hydraulics to resleeve in the past with satisfactory results. Last fall when I needed an aluminium motorcycle brake master cylinder sleeved because of internal pitting (obsolete part), I gave the nod to someone else. I am pleased with the outcome regarding results and cost. This fellow sleeves with brass which in my humble opinion is the way to go.
I am probably shooting myself in the foot for posting this, because this individual is already very busy and thus more work coming his way will certainly tend to slow down turnaround time for me in the future! By the way, there is other interesting automotive related matter accessible thru this site.

I had Apple Hydraulics do my 61 master cylinder and it took just a little longe rthan they quoted me but the work was first claa in my eyes. If they can do that well on a master cylinder I will trust them with wheel cylindeers should the neeed arise.FWIW

Terribly sorry guys; inadvertently gave wrong directions to my sleeving source!.....

            Should be the following:

Antique and custom hydraulic brake and clutch cylinder restoration specialist
