1963 shocks-dated 11B62

On a wrecked 1963 corvette I found what appeared to be original shocks on an early car-#3171189-Pliacell but dated 11B62-painted original black-both front and rear. Delco Products-Dayton Ohio USA. The date reads Feb.11th1962. Could these early shocks find there way to the production line. If they were for a 1962 they should have number 5552796/front and 5554593/rear?

If it is 2nd week of Nov in 1962 then that is about 4 months into the 1963 production, I am sure you know that but forgot, somehow.

Your right-thank you-I was thinking from the old days. For the first time in my life we have a set from 1963-in good condition and a set from an early 1967-321day of 1966-all four in good condition -both sets not leaking-light rust only-some of the blue left on the 67's.

Now all you have to do is buy a couple of cars to put them on! Then they will be the "Real Deal" and have no "issues"
