Is the 66 Transmission tunnel larger or smaller than a 68?

Tyler, I would bet the tunnels have been the same size and configuration from 53 through at least C3. Reason: The first Corvette was designed around a Powerglide; and, since automatic transmissions have always been larger, the tunnel configuration probably would have carrried over through every year class, at least through C3, and maybe further.
Since my 70 is identical to 68, I can provide a C3 measurement for you...I can't help with a C2 measurement. You would also have to specify an axial location in inches from the firewall; the transmission tunnel tapers radically from firewall to shifter. -

The '68 tunnel was enlarged in order to accommodate the THM-400 transmission, which was never available in a C2.
