Stan, I should add that the filter is two sections. 1) a metal inner screen/ring and 2) a foam cover that goes over the ring. The foam is to be oiled for use.
The original foam cover has the number embossed on the side, current reproductions do not have the A165C on them. As I recall GM stopped making the foam in the late 60's and went to a paper replacement. I think that is an A353C.
