    Dip Painted Black

Can someone tell me how to duplicate the "dip painted black" finish used on several 69 suspension parts etc. Thanks,

Dip Painted Black; works great for some parts

        Lynn,

I dip painted all of the bumper brackets for my '66 using two long & narrow plastic troughs used for drywall mud. I needed two troughs since some brackets were too long to fit in one. After cutting off one end of each I glued the two together to make a trough about 30" long. Then I used Rustoleum semi-gloss black in quart cans (2 quarts I think) that I thinned considerably with paint thinner. After dipping each bracket I hung them to drip dry. They came out great. You can control the amount of runs you get by changing the paint-to-thinner ratio. Thicker paint results in more paint runs.
