    Parts source needed

I'm still trying to locate a parts supplier who has a set of original dealer installed floor mats available for a C2. Do any of the members know of a source for such an item? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

All the major and most minor upholstery sellers carry reproductions of these. I doubt you'll find originals.

        Joe-----

If anyone has them (other than a possible eBay seller) it will be J.T. Pipers Corvette of Vermillion, IL. If they do have them, make sure you're sedated before you ask for a price.

            From a curiousity aspect...

What motivates folks to look for NOS, factory production era, original floor mats? They were exclusively dealer supplied and MUST be removed from cars placed on the judging field and are therefore NOT a judged item.

So, the question is, why do we see posts from time to time from people looking for real McCoy floor mats when their originality/condition is a restoration non-issue????

                Jack,

You seem to be making the assumption that everyone who owns a corvette wants to have their car judged on the judging field. I fully understand that such an item is not part of that process and is not considered when embarking on such a quest. None of my C2's have ever been judged and I don't feel the need to have their originality or condition verified. I am content with the fact that I know that they are original driveline vehicles with almost no changes or modifications being made over the years and I enjoy driving them regularly when the weather permits me to do so. They are all documented from the selling dealer and through all owners. Two of my three C2's had these original mats in them when I purchased them, the third one did not. I simply want to locate a set of mats for the third car so they all have original mats in them. It would be easy to buy a set of the reproduction mats and call it a day, but I want a set of original mats in each of my C2's. It's a personal choice, as simple as that. Part of the great thing of owning these cars is the difference in their owners-some choose to go the show or judging route while others choose to enjoy these vehicles for what they are-a really fun car to drive! To each his/her own. Thanks to those who responded and I will try Piper's.

They look so good in a car, and protect your carpet. Granted you remove them for judging but I drive my car. As far as parts some people must have as many original parts for there cars they can find. I bought an original yellowed set for my driver because the repops aren't the same.

Double vision, is it me, the computer or the posts? You guys are chasing them now, so much so it had me look to see why. When did the black one start on the scene? Even as a dealer item, they had a GM production source...

Haha....I've noticed this on a few older threads too. Probably during a forum update something went bad on the database conversion that causing this issue.
