Early 63 (C2) Front Spare Tire Holder Bolts

I posted a photo earlier today - A rear spare tire lock holder bolt. It's agreed... that one is from a '63. I don't know how the roll pin got there, but it could have been rusted, or blown away by sandblasting, and replaced. That part was pretty rusty.

I also wanted to ask if the two front bolts (also 63 or early 63?) came with a nut welded on the the bolt, instead of the more common "tapered shoulder"?

The nut is welded one inch down from the threaded end. I can post a photo and the length if needed.

    Thanks

My April '67 has welded nuts. I have no reason to believe they are not original.

Tom, look at the other end. As I recall there are 3 different designs.

1st design - has a nut welded on the bottom for installation - Early 63
2nd design - no nut welded but the bottom is large and round - 63
3rd design - no nut but the bottom is no longer round, the sides are clipped to allow a wrench to fit for installation 64 - 66

                Why not post a picture.

Take a look at Adams book, page 106 on. Has original drawings!

Now I'm getting a little lost in this discussion. We are talking about three bolts, the two (2)front one's and the single(1) rear one. So many of the characteristics are the same that unless we specify which bolt a comment is being made on I get lost. So please ref which one you are talking about for the novice reader such as me.

I have a Mar64 with original parts in that area, if anyone wishes I can send a photo of those three items, just email me.

My Mar64; the 2rear are flared at top.
The KO car, I have read, still used the old 63 design of a weled nut. Assume it was a little longer.

My Mar64: the front has the flare, a large washer, then barrell bolt with solid pin at top of screw. The support which bolts to frame is just a "U" shape without any rasied sides.

Here's two photos of a pair; What I call the front two bolts. Are these for 63 or 67 or could it be either? Based on prior feedback, I's say these could be from a 67.

Sorry for any confusion. (I've been in that state since about 1966.)

                            Thanks
