So once I get the covers who should I have install them, do you think most local shops can or do I need to send them some where. I live in the Atlanta area.

I sent my seats directly to A Knoch and had him install new seat foam, covers, seat backs and trim. The seats came back in three weeks and everything fits like a glove. -

Sal, if your going to Carlisle this summer. Make an appointment with them, bring the bare metal and he will install everything while you are there.
You can strip, repair and restore the frames before you go.

Sal check out www.alknochinteriors.com web page for 2008 shows they attend. You can make a reservation for installation of the seat covers at the show site if you want to wait to attend a show. You can even buy the seat covers and have them bring them to the installation location. If you have a convertible and need a new top this is one of the best deals going, buy their top and have them install it also at the show. Nothing like receiving professional service. A new top and new seat coverings will really be impressive in your Corvette.Comment

Sal AL Knoch will be in the Knoxville,TN area, Sevierville, TN for the Corvette Expo in The Smokies March 28-29. I recommend you call them today to see if Al Knoch will have time to do your seats. The trip from Atlanta through Chattanooga is nice one to the Corvette Expo.Comment

I found a local upholstery shop that could do the job. When I visited them for a new convertible top for a modern car, I found four or five classics being redone. I asked them if they would recover seats if I brought them new covers and/or foam, and they had no problem with that. Apparently, they were used to the idiosyncrasies of classic car owners.
When it comes to shops like that, I doubt that Pittsburgh is unique in that category.
