Re: seat covers
Al stands behind his stuff. I had a problem with the way my carpet was put together in a 67 coupe. They had sewn the "wings" on which showed as a line in the carpet.
I called and he said he would bring an original carpet to Kissimmee as I had questioned why the carpet was not one piece rather than 3 pieces sewn together.
After looking at the original carpet he had, we both discovered that it indeed was made of 3 pieces but had been glued together using some burlap.
He immediately called his shop and instructed them to change their fabrication procedure to the glued burlap rather than the sewn pieces, and to ship one out pronto!
I received a new carpet, made correctly, in less than a week.- Top

2x Price Increase for Al Knoch Seat Covers
Sal
Get ready to open up your wallet Sal. Al Knoch and all of the vendors who sell his stuff (Corvette Central, Mid America) have about doubled the prices for seat covers. I have been preparing to buy Al Knoch vinyl seat covers for my 66. This past weekend they were on the Mid America site for $299. But after I placed the order on the phone they told me there was a problem and they'd get back to me. On Monday they called to tell me their prices were going up to $699!!!! They offered to sell them to me at their new cost, $505, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay that kind of money. The Al Knoch site has them for about $570, still too much. I placed my order with Corvette America today. They make their own and their price is around $300.
Everyone always says that Al's product is the best but I can't reward this kind of price action with an order. And at nearly twice the Corvette America price I just couldn't justify it.
Good luck with your decision!- Top

Re: 2x Price Increase for Al Knoch Seat Covers
Mike,
You will not regret buying the CA covers. Their products have undergone a major retooling, and I think that their midyear stuff is the equal of any product on the market. Their new door panels are the best fitting panels since the General made them!
I have bought 2 sets of leather covers in the last few months, a 65 and 67, and they fit beautifully. Carpets were nice too!

Thanks for the validation. I'm glad to hear that you found their products good. I was unhappy that Al Knoch had increased their prices but the fact that Mid America wouldn't honor their published web price kind of ticked me off. The supervisor I spoke with on the phone was very nice and trying to satisfy me with offering to sell the covers at cost but it just hit me wrong.
I switched my order for carpet, visors and center arm rest to CA as well. I hope to have the same experience as you.
