1st design 69 seat belt help

Does anyone know if the plastic buckle or metal cover are reproduced? I can't find them anywhere.

    http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e232/Lintmann/P1010083-1.jpg

If you look close the plastic part of the buckle on the left was repaired by me years ago(notice that the raised portion at the end in missing). I'm also missing the metal cover from the male end which is why there is only one in the picture. If anyone could point me in the right direction for replacement parts I'd appreciate it.

Also, does anyone know how to remove the plastic cover from the actual buckle without breaking it?

    Thanks.

    Greg,

I was looking for the same thing. No one seems to reproduce them but Paragon supposedly sometimes has used ones. They aren't in the catalog, you have to give them a call.

            Greg,
I do not have an answer to your question, but I have a question for you. I have an early 69' convertible and my female buckles are missing the GM emblems. Did you replace these? If so, where did you get them? What are they made out of and how are they attached.

I have been searching for these but cannot find them anywhere.

            Joe

I am sure that someone knows this, but weren't the buckles on other GM car lines of that era?

Sorry but I can't help you Joe because I didn't need to replace mine. I think that all of the other GM buckles of the era had square emblems so it probably is a Corvette only part.

Greg and Joe, neither the metal cover nor the GM label are being reproed. They are early 69 only parts. I needed both and had to source them from used originals.

There's a big ad in the current 'Driveline' from CorvetteUSA.com. It says America's Finest Corvettes at the top of the page. They claim to have them.

Marc, correct, they have seat belts, but they are repros. I've already spoken to them and the don't have the GM button or the metal cap.

Two to three years ago I sent mine to Ssnake Oyl to have the belts redone. The lady there told me to insure them for big bucks. She said the male ends were extinct and that rusted ones were going for $800--$900 a pair. From the way she talked, it was the male end and not the female that was so hard to locate. I'm sure you've tried the seat belt shops already, but I'm just trying to help.
