Purchased two new 2" exhaust donuts today (Fel Pro), and noticed that they are of sintered metal construction. I guess we're getting rid of the evil asbestos, or something. Looking for comments on how well this new style seals and holds up when compared to the previous mesh/asbestos wrap versions. Thanks.

I've been using the "sintered metal" exhaust "donuts" for many years. In my opinion, they're the only way to go, GM actually used these on some truck applications and there are old GM part numbers dating back to the 50's for both the 2" and the 2-1/2".
These pieces are virtually "immortal" and definitely hold up better than the composition style. The composition style are still available, though, if one wants to go that route. As far as I know, they have not contained asbestos in a long time.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
