T-10 Transmission number help please

A friend of mine has a T-10 transmission that he is looking to determine the application. I don't have my books readily handy, so I thought I would ask the group.

Date code- 5 11 62 (May 11, 1962)

T10-7D

3813490 ( second # could be a 3)

R-1

Any help would be appreciated.

Gary,

The information you gave came off the rear case of the transmission. Tell your friend to look at the main case on the passinger side to see if the cast is T-10 D1 or T-10 1C. This will indicate if it's from a 1962 (T-10 C) or 1963 (T-10 D). The date of 5/11/62 on the rear case looks like a 62 assembly but could be from a early 63 assembly also.
