Whats the correct distance between the water pump mounting surface and the fan blade mounting surface for 65-67 396/427? Is the distance the same for a SB? Thanks.

No -- BB's are 5_3/4"; SB's are 5_9/16"
And even the SB measure seemed to vary in the early C2 years. There was an thread on this subject. -

Yes I understand that on the water pump the mounting height is 5 3/4". I was talkeing about the fan clutch that came on most AC cars or as an option. Looking for the distance between where the fan blade mounts on the fan clutch to the hub surface of the clutch that mounts to the hub/pulley of the water pump. Believe it is something like 1 1/2" or 1 /3/4". And if the SB clutch fan is the same as the BB clutch fanComment

Sorry 'bout that; 1.8"=CJ; 1.5"=CK
the shorter distance being for the big block. To my knowledge, there was no difference for air versus non-C60. And probably both suppliers (Eaton and Sweitzer) made both shaft lengths.Comment
