    Need 1964 ride height dimensions

    Hi all,

Can someone please offer the correct front and rear ride heights as measured from level ground to the wheel well opening? Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Craig Willetts

Re: Need 1964 ride height dimensions

The Z and D dimensions of suspension pickup points are listed in the service manuals and AIMs, and these are what you should use. They are independent of the installed tire's static radius.

Unless you know the reference car's Z and D dimensions AND the static radius of its installed tires AND the static radius of the OE tire, AND the static radius of your tires so you can compute the correct range of ground to top of wheelwell diminsions for your car, any ground to top of wheelwell dimension provided is basially meaningless.

This is why GM specifies ride height dimensions that are indepedent of the installed tire radius. Tires introduce too many variables, and these variables are included in a ground to top of wheelwell measurement.
