    Console Repair kits 1965

Who makes the most correct console repair kit for a 65 with 4 speed? I got dinged for a couple points due to incorrect grain (almost not existent on mine) and "not even close" on the black lettering for the shift indicator. I would like to address this before the next judging event. So if you can recommend a source based on experience with this part, please help. My first guess would be LI?

    Thanks

        Rob,

I have seen some of the repro console kits that are virtually smooth as you describe. I recently purchased a console kit from LICS that had a much more pronounced grain. These should judge better than the smooth ones. Also, many of the kits have an ash tray door handle that just screws on, whereas originals were riveted. LICS does have the riveted ash tray doors, but you have to remove the runners in order to install them.

As far as the shift plate, I don't know of anyone that makes one that is identical to originals in the shift pattern.
