Mike,
So glad you're offering an online school this winter. I wish there were many more NCRS online schools being offered and the 2 point per year limit per member was eliminated. Doing so would encourage participation and almost certainly increase the level of participation from members who can not or choose not to travel for good and understandable reasons.
Online schools is the method of knowledge transfer (learning) that's become the principal form of teaching/learning in industry, government and most other communities. In person learning is the best but not always feasible or practical.

Personally, I love these things and agree with what you say - particularly about travel.
Having judged cars (mostly C2s many years ago); having my car judged 3 times; and attending many of these virtual schools, i do believe (as you do, too) there's a difference between boots on the ground, hands-on vs. distance learning, though.
The thing I love about Mike's presentations in particular are that most of them cut across all (or many) generations in a short amount of time.
My C1, C3 and beyond knowledge has improved because of these and the development of Corvettes over the years is very interesting.
Limiting to 2 judging points a year doesn't bother me at all - In fact, I would do them even if there were no points awarded, but that's just me
โthx,
