UPDATE: Florida Chapter Fall Meet Nov. 21 - 22

Hi to all those coming to our Annual Fall Event in Howey-in-the-Hills at Mission Inn and Resort on November 21-22, 2025.

Our Chapter event is fast approaching. Registration is closed so Richard Small is putting together Judging Assignments. There will be judging books at the event to use to familiarize yourself with your assignment. We have a strong field of Judges participating so those wanting to learn, please be assured the more senior judges are there to help. Some as judges and some as Observers. At the event we would like you to pencil your name in where there are open slots for Observing as Master Judges or those starting out. This is a great learning opportunity.

We will be having a quick Technical Session, a requirement for our TOP FLIGHT Certification at 4:00pm on Friday. Please attend this session on our new “Open” Category.

    See you then,
    Richard Small
    Judging Chairman

We have the following amazing cars to judge:
    Flight cars: Vincent’s 70, Stralis’ 72, Stralis’ 74, Collins’ 81, and Fuss’ 91
    Open Stock: Vincent’s 67, Martone’s 72, and Lomma’s 72

    Dear Everyone,
Here are some reminders for Car Owners, Judges, and participants that may help the event run smoothly.
    • All Participants: Please bring your camp chair, and an extra for someone else if you have room. We have Judges flying in from outside of Florida that aren’t able to bring a chair. There will be 40+ participants at the event and chairs and an extra canopy would be a nice Florida welcome.
    • All Participants: It may be hot, but we will have cold water. Please help yourself.
    • All Participants: Please follow the NCRS signs towards the restaurant Nickers on the right as you enter the Resort gate. If you arrive prior to the signs going up, park in the dirt trailer parking area to the left of Nickers’ Restaurant.
    • All Participants: We will have pizza on Friday and coffee and donuts on Saturday.
    • All Participants: Please do not enter or sit under the Judging Chairman’s/ Tabulation Team’s Canopy. They are working on critical judging information and need no distractions. It is common practice at all events. There will be another Canopy to sit under.
    • Judges: Judging Assignments will be emailed and posted the day of the event. There will be Judging books for reference as you judge.
    • JudgesOps and Exterior) arrive by 11:30am, Friday, for a meeting and then begin OPS as car owners arrive. The period of time for OPS is from 12:00-4:00. We are aware you may be coming a long distance so the time frame allows for traffic issues along the way. If you have traffic or travel issues, please call Richard Small : 321-288-7440, so we know you are on your way and to give us the best ETA you can, everyone’s time is valuable. We may need to reassign your position.
    • Judges: Friday: OPS and Exterior judging are in the trailer parking lot. Arrive in time for the Judges' meeting at 11:30. If the car you judge for OPS is driven you will judge everything except the cold start on Friday, until it has cooled down.
    • Judges : Friday: If you could not judge a cold start on the car you judged for Ops on Friday, please arrange to meet the owner Saturday at 7:30 am in the parking lot to judge the cold start.
    • Judges: Friday and Saturday: Please be sure you have an explanation/ comment beside every deduction then turn in your completed sheets to Richard Small. He signs them and gives them to the Tabulation team.
    • Judges: Please bring all your necessary tools to assist you in judging ie - flashlight, mirror, and camera.
    • Judges: Final Judging assignments will be posted at Registration.
    • Judges: Saturday, the Florida Chapter wants to thank those who Judge and Tabulate. They will receive money towards lunch. OJ’s will need to wait until they are full Judges. Please see Lynne Nimocks before going to lunch.
    • Car Owners: Schedule Update; If you will be arriving past 12:00 pm please call Richard Small : 321-288-7440 so we know you are on your way. Please allow about an hour each for the Operations and Exterior processes to be completed. Operation/Exterior Judging closes at 4:00.

    • Car Owners:Please have a charged fire extinguisher, the 2 ½ lb size, battery kill switch, and an NCRS window sticker (stickers are for sale at registration for $2.00). If you have all 3 items we add a 10 pt bonus to your score
    • Car Owners:Driven cars should arrive early Friday morning to insure a "Cold Start" test will be successful.
    • Car Owners:Trailered cars should arrive by 12:00 on Friday with enough time for Ops to be completed by 4:00.
    • Car Owners:All trailered cars remain in the trailer for a cold start. Please come to registration when you arrive. Please do not unload your car until told to by the judges doing Operations on your car.
    • Car Owners: Please bring your current Car Insurance and Car Registration or Title with you to the Registration Table for the Judging Chairman to verify per NCRS guidelines.
    • Car Owners:I know some of you are coming for the first time. Please feel free to ask for any clarification to feel comfortable with the judging process. You are not competing with others. It is set up so that you gain knowledge about your Flight judged car and how closely it represents a car that came off the assembly line at the factory. Come to the Tech Session to find out about the newly created “Open” class Stock and Custom.
    • Car Owners:Information on all the Judging Procedures can be found in the NCRS Judging Manual as well as sample Judging sheets,(ncrs.org).
