64-65 Corvette (F.I.) radiator support question

I have heard that, at some point, GM stopped supplying SB (non-AC/non-FI) core supports, and started supplying only the FI core supports for use on both FI and non-FI SB cars. Anyone know when GM started doing this? Thx

I bought a 64-5 fi core support oner the chevy counter about 1975, in spite of ordering a non-fi support. mike

The problem with the over the counter fuely core supports is that they are missing the tabs on the lower part of the "X" bracing. Attached is a picture of my '65 fuely support, with the tabs. IMG_20130607_165005_676.jpg

I did the same, in about the same time frame...I agree the service part differed from OEMs.

          Roland,
I can't speak to GM but Coffman Corvette still manufactures the '64-'65 non-FI, non-A/C radiator core support.

            Bunky,
The saddles are available from CC.
Just stick them on with a little JB Weld.
