Air Cleaner Silk Screen Removal?

Hi,
Just asking to see if anyone has successfully removed their silkscreened air cleaner instructions, without damaging or discoloring the chrome finish on the underside? I need to change mine from black to red.

Just to clarify my original post, I have a DIY silkscreen kit to do the air cleaner transfer.

Do you know which type of ink was used when applying the red one? Water-based; solvent-based? The best way to safely remove it would probably depend on that answer.

The red one I showed is a picture of the new silkscreen transfer. The black one on my air cleaner lid is factory applied and the one I want to remove as shown here. So I suppose the ink type is whatever GM used.

Given what you do and don’t know I would contact Richard Fortier who will probably know what GM used and will likely know how to remove the original ink.
