C2 interior trim molding paint gloss

Restoring a 66 hardtop that the Black trim was painted with trim paint (very low gloss) The judging guide says full gloss but unpolished , I will be using spray can paint so I am thinking semigloss would look very close to unpolished gloss black
    any opinion's or suggestions
    thanks Bob

Bob- This info comes from a 1967 PPG interior paint document... doubt itz different in 1966:
(believe full gloss unpolished and 60° are similar in appearance)

      Jack, Bob,

The two gloss levels that Jack lists are also correct for ‘66. And yes, full gloss unpolished and 60° gloss are the same. IMO, rattle can semi-gloss will be pretty close.

          Gary,

Where did you find the information for 1966? I would like to verity what the gloss levels were for 1965, assume they are the same.

            James,

In the archives, back in 2012 Wayne Midkiff posted:

”The 1965 Corvette interior refinish paint chart calls for Ditzler lacqueur DL-9248 (as you mention). That is for the 60 gloss. The other suppliers' codes for this gloss are DuPont (Acrylic) 88; and Rinshed-Mason [RM] (Std Lacqueur) A-946.

But there are two black glosses used for '65 Corvette interiors, depending on the location. The other (3 gloss) is Dupont 4466-L; [no RM code], and Ditzler DL-9292.

From Chevrolet Service News, Sept, 1964: 1965 Product Features.”

                Robert,

If I were painting metal interior parts with a spray can, I would use a full gloss. Semi gloss won't get you to that unbuffed lacquer look.

                  thanks again
