My car sold yesterday so this is not sales ad. Last week I tried to alert my friends on the TDB that my Goodwood Green L-71 was in a BaT auction. I wanted them to see 250 pictures of a car I have discussed here many times during my leisurely restoration effort and to join the sometimes spirited discussion of cars on BaT if they wanted to. A few people saw my thread before it was taken down by the moderator. I was told that it was a prohibited sales pitch and that there was no way to reword it that was acceptable.
Now that it is sold, I hope I can invite you to go to the Bring a Trailer website, look under auction results, and search for 1967 Corvettes. Mine will show up under 36 year owned L-71 green convertible. It is too late to make comments, but there are many of them to read along with 250 pictures and several videos. This is my last opportunity to show it off.
It was not my intention to look for buyers on the TDB. I think most of us are getting old and thinking more about finding a new caretaker for our cars rather than buying another. So you might be curious about BaT.
They are miserable to deal with and have no understanding of restored Corvettes, but their auctions focus a lot of attention on your car. I had over 11,000 views and 1,000 people with my car on their watch list for the week-long bid period. I had 10 or more bidders, and the car sold for $176,000, more than the reserve I requested and way more than the crummy reserve they gave me.
I am not leaving NCRS or the TDB with the sale of my car. I still have my 70 LT-1.
