    A O Smith production

many years ago, I did read John Hinckly write up on it and I didn't see it in the sticky of articles on this site or anywhere else on the internet. but at our chapter meet yesterday we had a judging school on Smith production. the question was brought up on 67 BB cars not being done there and a off shoot question about that was did Smith have a offline repair booth like St Louis? Also why hasn't the A O Smith only AIM been published?

Article over on Corvette Action Center - Link below.

Good question about A.O. Smith AIM - Might contact Mid America Corvette, they are folks most likely to have it if anyone does.

      Keith,

I WAS TYPING THIS APPARENTLY AT THE SAME TIME DAVE WAS

dunno if it's in this article or not...

I think JH said there were (are) only 2 known copies of the A.O. Smith AIM.
Of course, He didn't say who had them or why they haven't been reproduced like the St. Louis ones...

Your own Michigan Chapter Larry Galloway spent LOTs of time in Ionia...
I'd love to have one, too...maybe he has one of the two

      thx,

Thanks. It seems John got a copy of the AIM or at least one page.

contains several JH articles. (If a MI chapter member, this link is also in "member documents" which is part of www.MichiganNCRS.org.)

A quick look didn't alert me to this subject, so I will review again later today.

John Hinckley had a copy of the Assembly instructions from A.O. Smith. He donated it to the GM Archives. Maybe someone with contacts could get it published.
