    Exhaust Crossover Pipe

The '57 judging manual says "Only 1957 fuel injected models were specified as using exhaust crossover pipes." I have a 270 hp dual quad engine and everywhere I read (outside the judging manual and Nolan Adams Restoration Guide) says the crossover pipe was used on "high performance engines". Can anyone tell me if the dual quad, 270 hp engine did or did not have the crossover pipe? I'm having to order an entire exhaust system and want to order the correct system.

1956-57 AIM shows crossover detail for RPO 579 (FI), but nothing indicated for RPO 469 (2X4). My car is a 270hp and unfortunately not original, but all the research I did for restoration convinced me NO crossover, supported by repro systems offered by more than one supplier. Hope this helps.

Thanks Rod. I didn't think to look in the assembly manual. So yes, this does help.
