    67 L79 exhaust head pipes

Were 65-67 L79 exhaust head pipes swaged 2" to 2-1/2"?
    IIRC the 64-65 L76 & L84 were as were the 70-72 LT1 and 73-74 L82.

1964-65 L-76 and L-84 were equipped with 2-1/2" outlet exhaust manifolds so forward exhaust pipes were 2-1/2 and no swaged section was necessary". I believe that 1965 L-79 also used 2-1/2" outlet exhaust manifolds. All of the other applications you mention used 2" outlet manifolds and the forward exhaust pipes were swaged from 2" to 2-1/2". No 2-1/2" outlet exhaust manifolds were utilized for any small block after 1965.

      Thanks for the correction Joe.
I was wondering because I got some judging sheets for a 67 L79 a customer was looking at the photos from just prior to judging and the car had the slip fit and welded pipes BUT received no deductions on the exhaust, it scored high percentage top flight and wondered how it could have gotten by with zero exhaust deductions.
