Proper routing of #4 plug wire- '70 454 AC

How should this plug wire be routed? These two photos look down on the right front of engine showing the exhaust manifold , #2 and #4 plug wires, and the rear AC compressor bracket (compressor missing). 1970 454 AC
ABOVE: #4 plug wire between engine and AC bracket. Shortest route but plug wire touches exhaust manifold. I think (but not sure) this is the original routing and my fat 8mm cables may be the problem
BELOW: #4 plug wire routed under and behind AC bracket. More bends but doesn't touch exhaust.
