Rochester Fuel Injection for big block V8s?

    Hi Folks,

Over on Corvette Forum there is a thread about whether there was ever an attempt by GM to adapt fuel injection to big block engines. There is some evidence that there was such an effort and there exist a couple of FI high pressure pumps which might be remnants of the project. This is discussed in the CF thread.

For the curious, here is a link:

    Jim,
I read a Corvette Magazine article about GM building a prototype C4 with a big block. Although not a Rochester unit, they machined a TPI unit with Grand National injectors. It was going to be a revived ZR-2.

Vince Piggins gave Hilborn a full L88 stamped long block in 1969 for testing of a FI unit. There was an article in The Restorer a while back with a picture of the motor.

I'd like to see that article. Do you know which Restorer it was in?

The motor was put in a real ‘69 L88 as its assembly code was perfect for this car. With the help of some great guys, we were able to find the original engine for this ‘69 L88 and the Hilborn motor was removed and is now on an engine stand in Austin, Texas
