    air cleaner

Does anyone have any information or insight to whether or not the reproduction L76 or L79 air cleaner for 64 or 65 is going to be available any time soon if at all? Originals in decent shape seem to be hard to find.

    Howard,

What do you mean by “air cleaner”? The gloss black air cleaner base; the chrome air cleaner lid; and/or the air cleaner filter?

            Don,

What's the source of the screenshot you've posted? Wondering if it's from a current vendor out there. I need a correct foam element for my '65 L79.

            Thanks,
            Mike

Probably ZIP, they bought LIC stock.

              From ZIP"

              https://www.zip-corvette.com/63-65-a...nal-style.html

Original style 1963-1965 Corvette 327 air filter foam element. Replaceable foam element fits over the factory style metal screen.

Note: Does not have AC imprint as original.

No logo as GM went after everyone using the GM AC logo without a license. NOS filters have all disintegrated into dust.

I'm looking for an original air cleaner metal screen for my '65 with L79. I too can't go to Carlisle this year.

Several years ago I found a company that restores original air cleaners. They straighten the metal, repair any damage, paint, rechrome, silkscreen. I got a complete restored original 70-72 dual snorkel from them and it looks perfect. I believe air cleaner restoration is all they do.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll dig through my receipts to get their name. Google might find them too.
