    The Delco part number 25020845

While cleaning up my garage I found a Delco box with a new trip odometer . Reads as follows :
    0211K3
    1#25020845
    Trip odometer

All I could find after an hour of searching online was; Delco part number 25020845 is a new genuine AC odometer for Chevrolet, GMC, and Pontiac models. I knew that from reading the box !

Can anybody give me more info, like for what years and a value.

    Thanks ,
    Jim

I cannot find anything on that part number and I expect I know why. What you describe sounds like an instrument REPAIR part. Such parts are carried in a special instrument repair parts catalog and are not in general GMSPO catalogs or inventory. I’m not even sure they are orderable through regular GM dealers.

Addendum: I believe that "authorized Delco instrument repair facilities" have access to these instrument parts catalogs and can order the parts from GM through some "special channels". So, if you can find one of those shops, assuming that any still exist, they might be able to tell you what you have.

      Thanks Joe ,

The fact that you could not find it is disappointing, but it makes me feel better about not finding it on my own ! In fact I am surprised I even found that statement now . "Delco part number 25020845 is a new genuine AC odometer for Chevrolet, GMC, and Pontiac models". I can't imagine I ordered it from anybody but a GM dealership. but who knows? It must have been a long time ago !

I will try your suggestion and let you know if I hit on something.

I can tell you that part number's release dates from ABOUT 1980 although it's possible there was a predecessor part number.

Joe is correct in that speedometer components were generally not available through the GM parts system. Only available from GM authorized repair facilities and dealers would send speedometers / tachometers to them for repair. True also for radios, clocks, and w/shield wiper motors plus also p/brake boosters. The exception being that a dealer could order a complete new speedometer head assembly for most vehicles.

Somewhere in my travels, I acquired a AC-Delco speedometer catalog #3A-100 dated 1991. I did find reference to the #25020845 trip odometer. It is shown in the illustration as being used in " AK " series speedometer which is a typical round face unit. The speedometer assembly units were #25016860 and #25019426 both being listed as application for 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix and LeMans cars. There may be other applications as well but did not see them.

The speedometers as used in 1963 -67 Corvettes are also a round face assembly but they are classified as being a " W " series speedometer.

Could be possible that was available through a Pontiac dealer.

          Regards,

          Ray

Curiouser and Curiouser! Dick's speedo in Arizona says it is for 81 82 83 Pontiacs. I did own a 77 Pontiac Bonniville at one time but that was it !

One last question Were AK speedos used in C3 or any other corvettes ?
