100LL Av Gas Price Report (Price Coming Down!)

FWIW: Just bought 5 Gal of 100LL Av Gas from a North Central Illinois Airport yesterday. Prices
are coming down. Now>$5.60/Gal compared to around $6.70/Gal a year or so ago.
    Thanks and comments welcome>Larry

I bought 15 gallons about 3 months ago and it was in the mid $5s/gal. Gas in general seems to be declining in price.

100LL is running mid-$5.00 range here in Dallas as well. Just a hassle to have to run this - especially if I decide to drive it further than just around town. 4:11 gears do not equate to good fuel economy!

          Fred,

Where do you get 100LL in Dallas? I used to drive up to the pump next to the runway at Northwestern Regional Airport in Roanoke (I believe it's now called Aero Valley Airport), but that was years ago.

Bob;Never heard of that before. What State do you live in? Have you tried other airports?
The airport I go do in Peru Il. are very happy to see me all the time. They tell me the sell a
lot of 100LL to other things beside airplanes like>Weeders/Tillers/Lawn Mowers/and etc.
                  Thanks>Larry

Florida. Perhaps it has to do with taxes. They sell a lot for airboats but if you take container, they want to know it's for an airboat. I can get it in another town at an oil company but I have also mixed 110 leaded with 89 non-ethanol.

At some gas stations in West LA and Beverly Hills unleaded regular is priced higher than what you guys are paying for avgas, and at least two refineries in California that provide 20 percent of California's gasoline will be shutting down in the next year or so. Eight dollars a gallon is being predicted by some pundits.

Consistent with what Duke posted, here in my little town in CA's Sierra Nevada, $4.99 will get you a gallon of 87 octane RFG.

Just had a fill up of Shell Gas in my Silverado in Northern Il. for $3.40/Gal.(Unleaded Regular) No;not as
bad as CA. but still stinks when your compare it to all the surrounding States of Illinois.
All of them in the low $3 or high $2's. You wonder where that tax on gas goes?? Larry

Here in Oregon (and what I saw recently in Washington) regular gas has been ranging $3.89 to $4.29 -- mostly for the last year or so. Premium is about $0.40-$0.75 above that. Non-ethanol in my town has been $5.59-$6.19 since at least last summer. My daughter in the Seattle area said she hasn't seen sub-$4 in the last 10 months since she bought her new car.

One of the things about comparing gas prices is that each state adds differing tax amounts. Oregon's gas tax is 40¢ and slated to rise to 52¢ on Jan 1, '26. Washington is 55.4¢. California is 61.2¢. Missouri, Kentucky, Texas, and Iowa by comparison are 20¢-30¢.
