    VIN confirmation.

I may have been a victim of someone re-vining the ‘62 fuelie that I purchased in Arizona at the end of 2023. Where exactly would I find a frame vin that would corroborate the one on the steering column and on the block? I don’t think the last owner did this, but whoever did the”restoration” of this vehical, and sold it to him, may have.

    Tom,

VIN should be stamped into the top of frame underneath the driver's door area.

Sometimes you can pry the body up enough to see the stamped VIN and take a photo.

    Good luck,

    Gary

Photo with text may help. However, PITA to see with body on frame.

Others may comment on how to view, but, might require cutting through driverside door sill.

I verified my '67 frame VIN with a dental mirror and a flashlight (dunno if the location is the same for a '62 or not ?).

Very difficult - slip the mirror up in there and then shine the flashlight at the mirror until you find the stampings.
As I recall, the numbers read upside down and reversed in the mirror - but you can figure it out if you go slowly.
          I was pleased mine matched
          thx,
          Mark

Nowadays with tiny flexible fiber optic cameras you may be able to take a peek that way.
I have a couple from Amazon that connect to my computer, phone or iPad and do a reasonable job.

I was able to see my 1957 VIN by undoing the body bolts on the driver side, putting a block on the floor in the correct area, and jacking about 1". Use a mirror and a flashlight. It may need to be wiped and cleaned to see it.
