Steve,
Yes. I had the same problem with mine 20+ years ago...
I replaced all my clips (can't remember who I got them from - maybe they weren't the same size as originals ?)
I had to use a towel to protect the stainless and a large rubber mallet...sometimes having to hit very hard !
I was petrified I'd bend the stainless, but went slowly and eventually got them all in w/o any dents...
As I recall, the upper corner pieces were tough to get in, too...
good luck !thx,

There are multiple potential problems installing a C2 windshield, especially the coupes. Most common is the aftermarket weatherstrips are a bit fatter than the originals. The upper edge of the molding hits the weatherstrip and tilts, so it won’t attach to the clip. A original weatherstrip will solve that problem. The 67 style clip with 2 barbs is currently available from Auveco, use those and not the Taiwan replacement. The 64-66 style clip is easier to attach, but they tent to lose their tension and won’t hold a stubborn molding, and new ones aren’t available. The moldings are frequently bent over the years during removal by careless installers, and are difficult to repair, causing them to be difficult to attach. On coupes, I have installed the upper molding first, then slid the windshield in. Mark the clip location before installing and push with your palm as hard as you can to get it to attach. A rubber mallet on a rubber sanding block is an option but there is potential problems with that option, like bending the molding or breaking the windshield.👍 2- Top

I don’t have the Auveco part number. Check with one of the Corvette vendors, the last ones I got have an AWT stamp on the back.- Top

Paragon isn't independent anymore, but the parts are still manufactured and available through Corvette Central. Are these Paragon corners correct? 64-67 Coupe Windshield Upper Corner Reveal MoldingDave
