    Mark,
Yes the 10-24 clip nuts were painted marina blue.
I have some photos of the front cuts as well, they just look like pretty much every other one I had seen.
The car is really original, Original fan belts, rad hoses, original calipers with aqua paint splashes on the rears. Blue mark on the pinion dust cover and green splash on the drive shaft at the pinion.
Side of the fuel tank has St Louis and other writing stenciled in white, it's so amazing to find the original frame paint in such nice condition with the drips on the cross members etc.
    Chris,
Use whatever photos you need, I just missed you at the Clemson show, I had just gotten this car in and was late getting down there on Sat morning. When I asked someone said you had left maybe 15 mins before I arrived.

      James,

So can you convince your friend to try to Bowtie it ?

if he says he wants to drive it...changing out old or deteriorating parts (belts; hoses' tires; etc.) will take away from the historical learning opportunity the car may have...

just a thought before "putting it back on the road", eh ?

      thx,
      Mark

        To all
I have started a research project on when St louis abandoned the rotor cutoff template on the rear body tab for the sipe pipe for clearance.
In 1965 the pics I have show a nice cut on that tab. In 1966 mid year, I have a pic showing the same nice cut pattern.
An early Dec '66 shows the hand wiggly cut. Also, a Mar '67 has the same type of hand wiggly cut.
If anyone has a pic of their car with the side pipe cut on rear tab please share a pic with month-year.
        Thank you Chris (61744)

The engine hasn't been cranked since maybe 1979-1980 and there are no indications that the timing gear has ever been changed, which is a big priority.
The owner joined the NCRS -

Given that so many of these cars end up with clutches between 30-40k miles... my own car, my brother's car, and many others I have looked at, I suspect that maybe a slipping clutch is the reason the car was parked.

Here is the car leaving - from 10-15 feet it presents very well.

I really didn't take very many photos of the outside other than the worst of the checking, road rash from tires picking and throwing gravel/sand on the quarters and anomalies of crappy body work at the bottoms of the quarters doors, fenders, and some of polishing the front glass (car completely bagged), someone let a bad wiper scratch the glass.
          67_driver_quarter_road_rash.jpg
I ended up putting a quart and a half of Meguires Number 7 into the paint - hand applied and removed to get the gloss back.
          AFTER FIRST APPLICATION of #7
          67_pass_roof_quarter_arrival.jpg

Pass side below the rear glass AFTER 3 TIMES APPLYING #7. -chips and scratches still visible, but gloss came back. I dabbed in the absolute worst of the areas with a fine brush. Didn't want to go crazy and start sanding and blowing in lacquer.

I will start a new thread with more detail photos of the chassis and other items.

I was following this thread, but we were out of town, so I couldn't reply. Your cutout is just fine as are drips like this. You wonder how this didn't get cut off when they were preparing for the pipes? The piece was cut before the front end was assembled and this drip is from the bonding strip. It was painted with the car. I still can't believe GM would allow a car to go out with this big drip, but it is not uncommon.

Thank you for the reply... that explains this cut.

                  James Henry,
Replying to your inquiry regarding date of assembly. The picture I posted of my white '67 was assembled K14.

He is ready to service the car, I told him to take as many photos of anything he had to disassemble to get it running. If I had not previously committed to a pretty tight timeline on doing the body work, painting and body drop on the Black LT1 - he may have preferred me recommissioning the mechanicals, I not efficient at much of anything, but if you want to see INEFFICIENCY talk me into anything but paint work on corvettes and I am lucky to get much of anything done in a year.
