His kindness and welcoming nature were felt by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his passion for C4's made my every discussion with him a joy.
While this news is truly shocking for me, I know that those in my chapter (PTSC) and the entire NCRS who knew him better are devastated by this loss. He was more than a fellow enthusiast—he was a wonderful person who made our community stronger. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones. He will be deeply missed.

Since first hearing this heartbreaking news, I have struggled to find the words to post here. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with Linda and Tom's family.

I joined NCRS in 1990, initially reading the The Restorer, and searching for parts through The Driveline, and attending a few chapter meetings and events. In 2008, I had the privilege of meeting Tom. He was the reason I became active in NCRS. His guidance, kindness, and unwavering integrity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Now, not only do I mourn the loss of a mentor and friend, but NCRS has lost a gentleman of the highest character. Tom's presence, wisdom, and friendship will be deeply missed.

      Rest in peace, my friend.

          I'm in shock!
I first met Tom in 2007 at my first event. I was able to join his team and I always enjoyed his humor and wisdom. I learned so much from him. He was steady as a rock.
He helped me many times as I learned the ropes of NCRS.
          Truly he will be missed.
Cathy and I pray that he rests in peace and comfort to Linda during this difficult time

I first meet Tom at the 2006 Auburn / Indiana Regional. I found a great friend that weekend. This is such sad news. My condolences to Linda and the family.

I offer condolences to the uncountable number of friends Tom had. If he met someone for the first time, he treated them like they were his best buddy.

There's a song by The Who where Pete Townsend sings the lyrics "How many friends have I really got? You can count them on one hand." For a myself, Tom was on that hand. He and I were The Skipper and Gilligan at events. We shared the room, we went to dinner together, we told the same stories again and again. Back in my points-chasing days I always drove to events. I'd pick up Tom at the airport, we'd go have a steak dinner, check-in at the event and I'd drop him back off at the airport afterwards. For 20 years, I'd visit and stay with Tom, Linda and their dogs several times a year, usually in conjunction with an NCRS event. He, Linda and I sat in our respective chairs in their living room and did our computer stuff, watched TV and shared stories. He and I had differences of opinion and what the remedies or action taken should be, but we always respected the other guy's position. Always.

All of us here can recall the first time we met Tom, and the recollection is sure to bring a smile. I met Tom at Flagstaff Regional 2006. I had entered my 85 in Friday's Flight judging, I knew nothing, I had not a clue what I was doing or in for. On Saturday Tom was TL for the 6 month old 90-91 Division. After the Owners meeting Tom called me over and said "You're doing Operations on these cars." Me: "I'm not a judge, this is my first event." "I watched you yesterday, you know more about how these cars work than the owners do. You'll be fine. You have any problems, you come get me." He roped me in. I've had a blast, and will always cherish the friendship that developed and endured for 20 years.

I'm gonna' miss my buddy. We are all going to.

              Dave P

This is shocking and sad news. Tom was a wonderful person with great people skills. When I was doing the Advanced Judging Seminars I often had a chance to call upon Tom for help. He never failed to come through with a smile and great patience. NCRS has lost a great Team leader and his family has lost a great patriarch. My condolences to Linda and the entire Barr family.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Tom’s passing. I agree with my fellow C4 teammates; Tom was a true gentleman, friend and mentor. I am reminded of the poem on my father's grave and believe it applies here: “In the night of death, hope sees a shining star and listening love hears the flutter a wing.“

I just saw this and I'm shocked. Tom was a mentor to me and a friend. Crazy, I did not know of his passing and just sent him an email today. Gone too soon. My condolences to the entire family. He will be missed dearly.

What a shock to hear this news. Tom was one of the best team leaders and he will be sorely missed in NCRS and in life it self. Our prayers are with Tom and his family during this difficult time. RIP my friend.

The C4 team had a great leader who was very knowledgeable and treated everyone with respect.

Tom Barr was a great friend like many who taught me a lot about Corvettes, but even more about life...

R.I.P. Tom, we are all going to miss you!
