    Inner/Outer Door Window Felt/Seal Sets

Hello everyone, could really use some direction and knowledge. recently purchased some stainless window door moldings and rubber and felt for my 79.
From what I can tell, the manufacturer is Fairchild Industries, was able to see that under the suppliers sticker they placed over the manufacturers.

The snap or the button on the rubber seals that were sent to me had a barrel shape compared to the original OE ones I removed that were shaped more like a mushroom or a snap.

I tried installing, and they would just pop back out, tried spreading them slightly only for them to distort once I started pushing them into the holes. It seems like the mounting buttons are made of a very soft metal compared to the originals.

BTW, went and tried reinstalling the OE they still fit perfectly after popping them in, but after 46 years the rubber dried up and cracked.

Paid $ 190 dollars thinking they were top of the line quality only to find this brand being sold on Amazon for less than half the price.

What brand can someone recommend that is as closer to OE quality ?

None. That's as good as they get.

What you have to do is remove the snaps as you call them from the old seal, and install them on the new seal, replacing the poorly shaped reproductions.

Don't you just love reproduction parts?

      Pretty Sad!

Thought about swapping the mounting parts, well off i go for the next few hours while i make them work using 46 year old mounting tabs-buttons-snaps what is the correct name?

      Thank You

*UPDATE* Instead of removing each button/snap, I drilled some extra holes and used the original screws to hold it tight against the door frame. It worked out really well.
