    Inner Fender Bonding Strip

    Need some advice.

The seller has little detail about this bonding strip. Anyone know what side ( RH or LH ) and it really 63 only?

    Thanks

Generally, a '63 will have four of these. The flat sides bond to the top of the inner fender, while the "curvy" side butts up against and follows the contours of the top surround. Sealant or " dum-dum" is placed between the curvy side and the top surround. This is a '63 only application . The AIM shows these in Section. 11-13, sheet 6. To me, this appears to be the RH rear strip, but that's a " best guess". Maybe others will chime in on this.

Here's a pic of what might be the same bonding strip. The pic is from an original '63 inner fender that's been in my backyard for over 25 years. RH side, rear facing. You can see where the overflow mount was previously bonded to the lower left.

          Mike, Agree with you.

I need the left side as I need to raise the inner fender.

          Thanks Gents

Harry, The one for sale on e-bay is for the front of the inner fender. The other pic is for the rear of the inner fender.

For what its worth, the reproduction pieces available from the various vendors aren't even close to the originals. I used the reproduction pieces on my '63 convertible, but had to cut them down the spine and re-glass them to match the shape of the original bonding strips. Here's a pic of an original RH front piece... (top surround is largely missing).

I was able to get under the 63 today. This is the LH front inner fender Bonding strip. Looks like the one on eBay is the right side.

                The search continues!
