!966 Rear Lighting Harness

I am putting parts back on afer paint which started 3 years ago so some things are a little lost in my memory. The rear lighting harness which I replaced 10 years ago has two harness clips for fastening harness in place. The hole in the clips is about 5/16 but I cannot determine what they would attach to. Secondly, where does the ground wire for the license plate light atttach?

The clips go over the inboard tail lights. The ground wire is attached under the driver's side nut holding the license plate lamp assembly in place.
