NCRS - How It Grew (Corvette News - Oct-Nov 1976)

As we currently discuss the future of the NCRS, letz reflect on the past... and how it grew.
Over the years, some members were quite obstinate with bringing in new Corvette generations to judge.
Like it or not, itz worked well over our 50+ year history, and has sustained the club... at least thus far.

Membership has never been 'forced' to participate in areas they had no interest in...
So contemplate, if you will, how the NCRS would look today, if they remained totally stagnant.
Our founding members took a chance, made bold moves... I applaud them for their foresight, and efforts.
In subsequent years, improvements made have solidified us as an elite club... others attempt to emulate us.

Change is not about YOU... some thingz work, while others (like 'NEW COKE') can be a colossal flop.
But Coke is still constantly inventing, tweaking formulas... as a result, they are alive and doing well.
You may not enjoy all the flavors... so why deny others from drinking what makes them happy?

As for NCRS... simply consider a means to make change work, even if you don't totally embrace it.
Continue to enjoy the thingz you do... and for me, itz research, history, friendships, and helping where I can.

Thanks Jack, a breath of fresh air for me! Your research and help has been much appreciated by myself and many others.

As I have said many times. Some people love to show their cars. Some people love to judge cars. Some people love to hang out with like minded Corvette buddies. Some people love to do research and learn more about Corvettes.

      Regards,

Interesting, so it started as a head to head, competitive Concours type judging.

Well said Jack. While many of us joined a very long time ago, primarily for original Solid Axles and Mid Years, the NCRS has evolved to include subsequent generations and cars that have been altered to suit their owner's desires. It has allowed the organization to remain relevant and involve enthusiasts with different tastes and infuse some youth. Not such a bad thing. Plenty of room for everyone. Love the cars, but it's all about the people.

Without researching, studying cars and evolving, we'd be stuck the early dayz.
Many THANX to all those who've helped the club grow and succeed...
And herez to those that will carry the torch into the future!

Herez just one example, of where we came from:
