    Carter Carburetor Date Codes

Hello all, the Fourth Edition of the TIM manual lists the first digit of the September code as "I".

The Fifth Edition of the TIM manual skips the "I" and shows September to be "J".

    Which is correct? Thanks

It would be helpful to many of us if you identified which TIM&JG you are referring to.

J = September for early C3s and I would expect it to be the same for any other Carter built Q-jet regardless of the year.

      Thanks for replying Terry.

See attached. The Fourth Edition manual shows September to be "I", the fifth shows it to be "J".

And the 6th Edition shows it to be J = September.
Both the 4th and 5th Editions are history. While I can't remember this correction; it evidently was made back then. Those are nice collectors editions to have.

Shows how behind the times I am, I didn't know there was a 6th edition. Thanks for your help. Best regards, Pat.

            You’re both behind the times.
The seventh (7th) edition came out a month ago.
