Distributor rebuild service

Hello all. I recently had my 283 distributor rebuild done by Advanced Distributors by Jeff. I've used him over the years and he does exceptional work. Including setting up in his Sun Distributor machine.

I think he is a fairly young guy so he should be a good contact for years to come.

Reasonable pricing and very knowledgeable & personable guy IMHO.

I see it's a non-tach drive housing... aluminum or cast iron?

It has a B22 15" VAC, but the springs look very stiff. Assuming your 283 has an OE equivalent camshaft, what's the OE horsepower rating and whats the centrifugal curve?

I should have been more specific as I'm working on my 66 Chevy pickup. Original 195 HP 2 bbl carb, 3 speed off column. 3.73 rear and adding Edelbrock intake and carb. Already converted to M20 4 speed and Hurst shifter. Gonna be my daily driver.

It's the original 1111150 aluminum distributor. Set up for basic 36 all in around 3,000. Easy street driver. Springs look stiff but Jeff at Advanced Distributors uses what he refers to as "correct springs". Says aftermarket kits springs tend to lose effectiveness after about a year of use. Jeff has done my Vette distributors over the years. I think you would find him an enjoyable guy to talk to. Does all kinds including British cars.
