Bad news---another great one bites the dust

Brian Futo, the first NCRS fI technical advisor., has passed. he suffered a cerebral aneurysm in the early to mid 1990's, but outlived the rupture by about 30 years. he was 84 years old. at the time of his passing on April 17th. He was the only fi expert one could consult with back in the 1990's.. I just received this news from his good friend, John amgwert. RIP Brian. mike mccagh

Brian was a wealth of information back in the early days...I remember visiting his home (actually an old church) in Scottsdale with Dennis Clark and John Amgwert many years ago...rest in peace my friend.

Brian was both intellectually gifted & generous. He was a sincere & true gentleman, however, he didn't suffer fools or patronize. His word was genuine & his devotion to his partner & wife was stalwart.

What a surprise, an unwelcomed one. Another valued brother passed. See you later Brian.

Here is my Dad's actual obituary - Lisa Futo

In loving memory of Brian J Futo, 84 Scottsdale, Arizona.

Brian took his final lap around the track on April 17, 2025.

He leaves behind his wife, Jeri, his high school sweetheart and two daughters Cindee (Dale) and Lisa (Ed). He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Had a dedicated career with Parker Hannifin – Aerospace Division which led the family to Boulder, Colorado and ultimately Arizona. He planned well and retired early in 1996 to pursue his life passion of classic Corvette restoration.

Aside from being a great husband, father and friend to many, Brian’s passion for the Corvette drove him to be a pioneer in Rochester Fuel Injection. Anyone who knew Brian knows that he was member 664 of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) and acted as the Fuel Injection Technical Advisor. He was a published author and is well known for his ability to diagnose and repair these FI systems. He passed on his passion to his son-in-law Ed Troell and created Futo & Son Fuel Injection Service. Brian’s garage will remain a sanctuary filled with cars, tools and a vault of great memories.

He passed peacefully with his wife by his side and a family who wished him ‘pedal to the metal’. In lieu of services or flowers, the family requests that you fill your fuel tank and exceed the speed limit in honor of a great husband and Dad who will be forever missed.
