      Good work, and to date we only have 7 '65 L78s that had the N03 option in our registry.

                  17598 is already on the list. It had your name as the owner which I have removed.
                  It has this information “Project Car. Build date J14 900FF ext. 414BG int. Side exhaust”

                  I have added 15834;
                  We now have 380😊

                    Gary you can add 21935 to the list as engine only which I have. It's pretty much all there . I got it about 20 years ago from a guy in California. The IF stamped pad, broach, #s and letters look correct. When I got the engine I started looking for the car with no luck. I wonder if it still exists!

                      Thanks, Mark, I have added it to the list.

                        I was looking at the list and, if interested, I was the owner of 194675S122283. I had the car judged in Napa CA and at Zion. The car was originally Glen Green but was painted black before my purchase. Single stage Black Urethane. Dale Fiet had this car in the registry that he kept. The only difference was the color. The car came out of Tennessee (per Dale's registry), Car was in #1 condition, 33K miles. Leather, Teak & Tele, radio, TI. Had all its original parts (carb, dist, alt, starter, rear end, orig white top, orig aux hard top, carpet, and 5 KH Knocks. (I purchased it at the Rm Auction in Monterey in 2002. The car was absolutely stunning, had its hard top, etc.. but it had a very early reproduction trim tag (that I gave to Roy Sinor at his request). Every number on that car matched and was TFP. Still have the pics. The car Top Flighted, then it 2nd flighted due to the tag (NCRS changed the judging guidance), then it was considered counterfeit (if anyone remembers the judging changes) so I sold it. I sold it to a guy in San Diego around 2007 and he told me he added side exhaust (I begged him not to). He sold it to a new owner somewhere in CA around 2021. I would buy this car back in a heartbeat.

                          I remember that car from Monterey in 2002. The 3 of us who went together looked at it several times before it went through the auction.
                          You're right - it was a beauty.

                            Thanks Patrick. I posted the info because on the list this particular vin was highlighted as "waiting for Wayne Midkiff to advise more information". I don't know what that means unless Wayne now owns the car or knows the current owner? The car was never judged after Zion (where it scored well above 97) but was automatically 2nd flighted, so the car was never branded CF during my ownership. This was all prior to the Trim Tag TL sign-offs. Hope this helps the effort.

                              Wayne, my old friend, died a couple of years ago. He owned the last '65 396 built and was an authority on the cars. I suspect someone asked him about it and maybe never got an answer.
