    '63 A-arms & control arms paint/rivet

Weather is breaking so back on the '63.

Not having much luck with the search function so another question/opinon request for the '63 people.

Getting ready to paint my early '63(Nov 1 build) A-arms and control arm assemblies(minus ball joints), what is the current thinking for the best fatory match brand gloss black paint to use? Used Rust-olem gloss black first time, redoing them now after rivet setting problems so wanted opinons before I paint again.
Second time around on them as my first attempt at installing the rivets resulted paint chipping when gun slipped. Will be setting them with a press this time when I recieve new bucks that are being machined.
Couple pictures of paint/rivet as it stands now...any thoughts/opinons before I proceed?
    Thanks
And for grins a picture of the front clip I picked up a couple weeks ago, even built with the orginal header bar & headlight brackets.

Nice project, Jack. I enjoy that part of a restoration. I don't think which gloss black paint is a huge issue. I have always just primed mine and used rattle can gloss black. I use furniture grade steel wool between coats. They always come out nice. After paint, install your ball joints and rivets. You may need to touch-up your paint if it gets marred during the ball joint assembly process. Enjoy!

Over the last few years I have found Dupli-Color to be much easier to apply and, more importantly, to re-coat than Rustoleum. I've stopped using Rustoleum aerosols when possible.

I still like Rustoleum products in cans (pint, quart), however.

        Thanks Tony & Patrick,
Was hoping for some input on this. I was thinking that the Rustoleum was to glossy from other pictures I've seen, will give the Dupli-Color a shot. The only unrestored '63 I have seen was well aged & dirty so it was a no go on what they would have looked like when new. Been waiting on the rain to stop here and the humidly to drop before spraying them again. Good news is I should have the rivet bucks from the machine shop next week. Looking forward to doing some rivet practice on the press, not going to use the air hammer this time. The holding jigs for the press are done and waiting to be put to the test. Now if mother nature gives me a break I'll be able to get back on it.
        Thanks again...Jack
