1956/57 Exhaust Pipe at exit of Car

I am just finishing up the installation of the two tailpipes that exit through the body and the Chrome Bumper Bezel. Wondering how far past the bezel was normal for the pipe to extend. In pictures I have looked at it appears about 1/2 inch??

    Thanks

No more than 1" beyond the bezel.

AS I recall, the judging manual calls for 1/2" or less. over an inch will get a deduct. the latest 57 FI I restored ended up protruding its tailpipes an inch and a half when the extensions were fully seated . rather than remove the extensions, I cut them in place with a portable bandsaw then dressed then with a disc sander. no deductions at its last regional. good luck preparing the best looking corvette ever made. mike

IIRC Gary C advised me about 3/4" once upon a time. Fits within the above noted range.

Thanks for the replies, I have about 3/8 inch right now and I think will leave at that.
