    Engine matches 66 vin on the car, transmission does not. Still working on reading vin on frame.

      Not easy to do, but a dental mirror at the right angle w/ a flash lite and reading upside down and reversed will give you your answer.

        Does the engine pad stamping appear legitimate? Even if it does, an engine could have been transferred from a wrecked 1966 to a stolen 1965. All sorts of things happened during the "old days".

          I think the reverse can be true, too w/ less consequences for Plant Management than "Over-orders"
          My car is an example of one that was ordered with '67 redstripe tires.
          Apparently they were not available (hadn't been ordered and/or if ordered, hadn't been stocked where they needed to be) about two weeks before the end of production (June 28, 1967).

          White side walls were substituted and noted and signed off as a revision (RN 1583) as shown below
